If you want to use Sendinblue – an excellent software for email marketing – but don’t know how to subscribe your website visitors to your mailing list, this guide is for you. Use it to grow your list and boost your conversions (since we all know how great email marketing works 😉 ).
How to connect Sendinblue with WordPress
Creating a Sendinblue subscribe form in WordPress requires 4 simple steps. Don’t worry, it will only take a couple of minutes to put them together. So let’s dig in!
1. Get set up with Zapier.
Next, create an account with Zapier themselves. Please note that the number of zaps you can make depends on your Zapier plan, but the number of zaps you’ll be able to integrate with Ninja Forms using the Zapier add-on is unlimited. Now you’re ready to get started!
2. Make a Zap!
Integrations between applications handled by Zapier are called Zaps. We’ll be creating a Zap that will connect Ninja Forms with your target service. It’s super simple. Just log into your Zapier account and click “Create Zap”!
3. Setup your zap to connect any WordPress form with Sendinblue
Just search Ninja Forms in the Choose App & Event search bar to find us:
Leave “New Form Submission” set as the Trigger Event and Continue. You’ll now see a webhook URL:
Copy the webhook URL, and head back to WordPress and into the Emails & Actions tab on your form. Add a Zapier action, and paste the webhook into the Zapier Webhook field:
Now Publish (save) the form. Preview the form, enter test data into each field (do not skip this step!), and Submit the form preview. Now head back to Zapier, and Continue.
You’ll now be prompted with a few options to proceed. We recommend to Test & Continue to make sure the webhook has succeeded in establishing a connection. If anything goes wrong, Zapier will give you troubleshooting steps.
4. Set up Sendinblue as your Action App
If you followed the steps above, on a successful test, it’s now time to connect to Sendinblue. Same as before, search and select Sendinblue:
Now you will see the list of events available. Select the event you would like to happen. You have two options: Add or Update Contact and Send Transactional Email. In our example, we select Add or Update Contact and click the Continue button.
You will be prompted to enter the API v3 key. If you don’t have a Sendinblue account take a moment to create one for free and create the API v3 key by navigating to your profile > SMTP & API > Create a new API Key.
We named our API Key Ninja Forms. Please note that once you create a new API Key, you will see a pop-up with your API Key. This is the moment you want to copy the key and save it somewhere safe, as you will no longer be able to access your API key in the Sendinblue account.
Now that you have your API Key, you can go back to Zapier and paste the key. Click Yes, Continue.
Back in your Zap, you’ll now be able to fill in the details on the Action part. Here you can select the List where you want to subscribe your user. You can also choose if you want to add or reassign contact if you want to add attributes and more. Once you are done, you’ll need to Refresh fields to finish the setup.
As you can see, it’s fast and incredibly simple! To get the most out of the opportunities of Ninja Forms, choose a membership here.
